Since being created in 1988, the Indian Prairie Educational Foundation has:
Provided more than $2.7 million in educational enrichments for District 204 students, staff, and schools.
Awarded about $355,000 for 497 IPEF mini-grants and $254,000 for 173 artist-in-residence grants, which have resulted in a wide variety of classroom and other educational experiences for District 204 students.
Sponsored District 204's annual Fine Arts Festival and science & technology fairs, which showcase the creative talents and academic excellence of students at all grade levels.
Established an Excellence in Education program, which has honored more then 1,100 of our district's top graduating high-school and middle-school honor students.
Recognized more than 730 teachers and other staff members, who were nominated as "most influential" by the aforementioned high-school and middle-school honor students.
Supported student-conducted research in the Waubonsie Valley High School Human Genome Project.
Provided more than $220,000 in audio-visual and sound/lighting improvements to all District 204 schools - enhancing student presentations and learning experiences.
Established annual Community Service Awards, which are given to two graduating seniors (one from each high school) to acknowledge their volunteer activities and service to the community.
Addressed needs of at-risk children through matching grants for back-to-school supplies, funding for medical supplies for school nurses, and seasonal donations of coats/shoes/toys.
Collected more than $270,000 for program enrichments through various fund-raisers, including the sale of pewter keepsakes (depicting each district school), music/theater events open to the public, and previously an annual golf outing.
Established a middle-school math enrichment program.
